What we actually do

The key to our approach is that we become so steeped in the client's own business we ar
e like an external member of the internal team - without this involvement we are less successful and less interested, and find it harder to enthuse the client in turn.

More than once we have gone on radio or into print media standing in for the client, representing whatever they are looking to promote.

SPECIAL 2011 OFFER - we're currently offering fixed-price reviews of your marketing and/or other promotional activities, with a written report at the end (more details here) which you can give to another agency to deliver, use in your own marketing plan or ignore altogether. Although of course we'd love to take on the work ourselves, and if commissioned, will discount the cost of the review from the ongoing project cost.

On the portfolio pages are some of the projects we've been involved with; in brief some of our services include:

marketing strategy
  • we analyse a client's current position in the marketplace, contact (with permission) key customers of theirs and find out the real truth about perception and service
  • we make recommendations about future strategy and work with partner organisations to ensure our clients' strength going forward confidently
graphic design
  • corporate identity from simple one-off logos to long-term implementation of the full monty
  • magazines, newsletters, brochures, communications material
  • catalogues and brochures from databases
  • annual report and accounts
  • photography, photo manipulation and access to millions of copyright-free images
  • simple promotional material - flyers, posters, instruction manuals
  • exhibition material - stand graphics with or without matching print
publicity and events
  • we organise and coordinate successful profile-raising events on behalf of clients, where necessary arranging sponsorship, media and database management (see recent example here, with PM David Cameron as the keynote speaker to 250 guests)
  • we use our extensive personal and professional contact lists where possible to supplement our own knowledge and experience in any given field
copywriting
  • we get to the nub of the matter very quickly, and are passionate about plain English and cutting jargon from technical language
  • we work with information from scratch or re-writing existing tenders, manuals and promotional text, often translating wordier print text for use on the web
  • building personality for a company - from simple strap-lines to introductory passages, getting quickly to the nub of a client's offering

(Marketing types are the worst at blowing their own trumpets. We know this is a simple website, we have it only so we can keep it updated ourselves with little fuss. We spend the rest of our time selling our clients' businesses, not developing flash whizz-bang material for ourselves. It doesn't mean we can't, or that we haven't done so for our own customers. When we get the time we'll update this website - we have a much cooler one that's been 'under construction' forever, but frankly, at the moment our business comes by word of mouth through satisfied and loyal customers. Until we have to, or until we get snowed in for a week and can't communicate with the outside world, we're not going to distract ourselves from our core business and finish it. But one day, we will.)
